Hobo Dinner

I feel like I have said this quite a few times, but I am a sucker for any easy dinner and by the way I catch attraction on my easy recipes I post, you do too. Hobo Dinner is one of those dinners you can cook on just about anything. You can make this in the oven, on a grill, in a campfire, and more. This is so universal, its great.

Below I have quick step-by-step pictures on how I put this together and popped it in the oven. At the very bottom will be my complete recipe, with full measurements. Be sure to check it out. Skip the step-by-step section, if its not your thing, nobody makes you read that.

List Of Ingredients Needed

  • Yellow Potatoes – Small
  • Onion
  • Green Beans
  • Kielbasa
  • Seasonings
  • Butter (optional)

How Do I Make Hobo Dinner?

The reason this is called a “hobo dinner” is because you throw everything together. Cut it up and toss it in a pan, on the flat-top grill, in some tinfoil on a campfire. You cook this however you want, add some things, leave some things out. It’s just a simple dinner, to throw together for the family, anywhere.

In this recipe, I made mine in the oven. So if you are making it a different way, you may need to tweak the recipe some. Here is how I threw it all together.

Grab out your desired pan and grease the bottom with olive oil. Cut up your meat and vegetables and toss into the pan. Sprinkle your desired seasonings on top and give it a good stir. Add some more seasonings if you feel it needs some more. Place in a preheated oven and cook, maybe stir once or twice as it cooks.

Here is something I think is very important. Seasonings. I have preached since day one about how important seasonings are. I assure you, if you made something you normally make but add some seasonings, even just salt and pepper it’ll taste even BETTER.

Add your seasonings, go a little heavy. It looks scary at first, but once it mix it all in, its not as much as it seems. Add some more if you feel it needs more, but seriously season your food.

This would be really great in a foil pack on a campfire. I look forward to trying this when we go camping this summer. Hobo Dinner was a super quick and super delicious dinner. I hope you give this a try, you wont be disappointed. Check out below the full recipe and measurements. All recipes can be shared to Facebook, Pinterest and can be printed. Thanks for taking a look.
