White Chocolate Snowman Christmas Gifts

Every year for Christmas I really enjoy making gifts for close family and friends! I always try making or crafting something different each year. Most of the time it is food related, just so I can post it in here and share with all of you. This year I decided on making Mason Jar Snowmen, with White Chocolate Dipped Pretzels.
Originally I was going to just purchase the pretzels and create the Snowman jars. But than I had a hard time finding white chocolate covered pretzels, so what does any one do in that situation? You make them, of course!
I grabbed what I needed to make the Pretzels and to create the Snowman jars and I got crafty. Below I have the step-by-step on how I made the pretzels as well as how I created the jars. This is simple and totally cute!! Check it out!!

Supplies Needed

  • Mason Jars
  • Pretzels
  • White Chocolate Baking Chips
  • Ribbon
  • Buttons (Or Similar)
  • Hot Glue

How Do I Make the Pretzels?

This was my first time making these and I will say, as I got to doing them I did learn some tricks. The best trick I learned is, less is best. If you have too much chocolate, its hard to dip your pretzels. Here is how I did that.

Using a small pot, fill the bottom with a couple of inches of water. Set on the stove, placing a oven-safe glass dish on top of the pot. You want it to fit into the pot a little, but not completely. Turning the burner on a low-medium heat, to get that water in the pot boiling. Place maybe 20-30 chips in the glass bowl. As the water underneath boils, the chips will start to melt.

*DON’T LEAVE THE POT – THE CHIPS COULD BURN*

Using a fork (Utensil I found best) mix the chips until fully melted and ready for the pretzels. Place 1-3 pretzels in the bowl at a time. Using the fork, flip the pretzels over, to coat each side with chocolate, remove and set on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Allow to cool for 10-20 minutes (or longer, depending on the amount of Chocolate). Now you will add them into your jars, once cooled.

How Do I Make Snowman Jars?

The Snowman Jars are fun because you can create them however you want. I chose to go with a red ribbon that was sparkly. You can certainly choose any kind of ribbon you would like. You can dress the jars up more or less, than I did.

Using your hot glue gun, glue on 2-3 buttons on each jar in a vertical line. These buttons are to look like the buttons down the front of the Snowman. I used wood beads, black buttons would work well as well.

Now that the buttons are cooled, lets work on the scarf ribbon. I wrapped the ribbon around the neck of the jar and than I cut leaving a couple extra inches, to “tie” the scarf. Tie it just using one loop and than use a couple dabs of hot glue, to glue down the ends of the scarf.

Add your cooled White Chocolate Covered Pretzels into the jar and Viola, you have cute Snowman jars! Perfect little Christmas gift!! Everyone loves a thoughtful sweet treat, around the holidays!!

Merry Christmas from me, to you!!
